Welcome one, welcome all to the first edition of a beautiful darkness. We bring to you a day of workshops followed by the call of the theatre as we bring you an evening of delights and dance. A Beautiful darkness embraces the blanket of winter and welcomes all who wish to share their vision on stage. From alternative and dark, soft and sultry to the most bizarre curiosities of dance, A Beautiful Darkness encourages creatives to express themselves. workshop 1 - Rachael Redfern - 10:00 to 1:00pm - £35 . Dark Fusion Belly dance Workshop. In this workshop we'll be diving into as much of Rachael's darker-edged fusion bellydance technique, stylisation, and sequencing as we can pack into three hours, covering the mysteriously subtle to dangerously dramatic. Expect lots of focus on technical precision as well as strong expression as we explore a wide range of hip work, innovative arm pathways, captivating layers and heavy hitting, razor sharp isolation sequences with attitude. You'll learn dark and delicious combinations guaranteed to expand your dance toolbox and take your skills to the next level while building up to a slice of expressive choreography to killer music! Expect some challenging concepts to chew on and take away with you, but with removable layers and options to make this workshop suitable to different levels. workshop 2 - Catherine Taylor - 1:30pm to 4.30pm - £35 . A Singular Magick: a unique choreography with showback opportunity (3 hours) Learn a one-of-a-kind choreography created for and with YOU! Catherine will guide you through her distinctive choreographic process to produce a very special one-off group piece. This is a unique workshop in which you’ll develop your creativity and clarity of expression, learn some gorgeous fusion belly dance combos and get some take-home tricks for your own practice. And there’s the option to perform the piece together in the show! All movers welcome, regardless of experience or background. All in Package: £60 6 hours of dance training divided between two, 3-hour workshops!. Payment plan available for full package: 3x £20 payments spread over the year. Deposit of £20 required to secure place, remaining balance must be paid in full by September 1st 2024.
